Schizophrenia
By definition, “Schizophrenia is mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, to think logically to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations.” www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. It makes you hallucinate actual things and be able to make contact with these hallucinations.
A good example of Schizophrenia is the movie “A Beautiful Mind” with Russell Crow. This disorder is mainly thought to affect cognition, but also contributes to chronic problems with behavior and emotions. There are positive and negative symptoms for schizophrenia. Positive symptoms are just the hallucinating and delusions. Negative symptoms are lack of emotions and not paying attention. They do not have any medication for Schizophrenia. What Doctors normally do is give them a anti- psychotic medication, but only helps the positive symptoms.
