We dream over a thousand dreams a night! Yet, once we awaken we can barely recall the last fifteen minutes of dreaming that had just occurred. Dreaming is the mental activity that takes place during sleep; everybody dreams and it’s basically ever night, although most people are only able to recall a few-if any. Dreaming is a necessity. At first it begins as left over thoughts from the day and then becomes more vivid and dramatic. Dreams are a world of it’s own in one’s subconscious state of mind.
We are all different and unique, yet the content of our dreams are common. Normally dreams take place in commonplaces such as streets, living rooms, cars, parks, and well-known areas. They also mainly consist of negative or unpleasant emotions-anxiety, anger, sadness, and so on; yet only a few percent is so negative to be considered a nightmare. Phew, what a relief, but dreams can still be frightening. Nightmares have us waking in the middle to spare ourselves the fright. Most dreams are forgotten because they aren’t coherent, ‘sexy’, or interesting enough. Despite the fact that we have so many dreams, our dreams are normally to scale of real time and not every second like most tend to believe.
5000 B.C.E is when the first dream interpretations are marked. Since then we have many who try to find the meaning to a dream. Dreams usually imply what our conscious in our awake hours is to afraid to acknowledge or express. Some have grown to think they are pointless and just brain cells stimulating while we are asleep. Where as some believe it is filled with underlying reasoning and meanings in every one of them. We all wonder what our dreams mean and we all seek to find out.
I think my dreams all have hidden meaning. I always have the same reoccurring dream and the same reoccurring nightmare. Eventually I will find out what the events mean along with why they reoccur. Until then I just have to rehave them over and over again. I do have to debate the commonplace idea. I have never had a dream that I’m aware of taking place in a common place. Also, I can recall all my dreams every day. Some for even an hour long. Dreams are my mind coming life during my sleep.
