Why people do what they do
Ever since the beginning of man there has been many incidents that leave
people wondering why? To answer these questions people have developed a
science called psychology and criminology. Why do people commit crimes and
murder? Most people in there right minds would never think of doing such a thing.
But occasionally there are different people with a mind set and think there actions
There are many reasons why psychologists think people do what they do.
Psychologists think the number one reason people commit crimes and murder is
because of money. No matter what the cause most people would do anything to
get their money. Other reasons are jealousy, revenge , power , and love. People
who commit murder usually do it because in their minds what they are doing is
right. For example a person who saw someone beating their spouse would kill the
person and think it would be alright because they saved the spouse being beaten
and possibly saved more people. Our society however would not think that that
was acceptable, and while the killers intensions were good the outcome would be
Psychologists and people who study criminology are still studying the behavior
leading to crimes and maybe one day we will be able to “ nip it in the bud” and
potentially save quite a few lives.

ADHD (Week 3)
ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, ADHD, is a developmental disorder. “The co-existent of attentional problems and hyperactivity, with each behavior occurring infrequently alone” and with symptoms being shown before the age of seven is how this disorder is usually classified. This is global and this does affect 3-5% of children everywhere, it is most commonly studied and diagnosed as a psychiatric disorder found in children, and diagnosed to about 2-16% of school aged children. Once you have it there is the chance that you’ll be one of 30-50% of children who carry it into adult hood. It is a chronic disorder. 4.7% is about the amount of adults living with ADHD, and a high percentile of them have learned ways to cope with it. Children who have ADHD are learning to cope and trying but still have difficulties, they tend to have a problem with their school work and find it difficult. It seems that ADHD is two to four more times diagnosed with boys than it is with girls, however it may just be due to a bias prefer by teachers. Managing this disorder usually contains counseling, changing the way of living, behavior modifications, and medication. It’s symptoms are hard to distinguish sometimes from other disorders, so there’s chances that you may miss the diagnosis until a later day in age, which makes even harder to manage. So pay close attention! It’s very diagnosis and treatment is controversy and has been since around the 1970s. Some symptoms would be :
“♥Predominantly inattentive type symptoms may include:
♥Be easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another
♥Have difficulty maintaining focus on one task
♥Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless doing something enjoyable
♥Have difficulty focusing attention on organizing and completing a task or learning something new or trouble completing or turning in homework assignments, often losing things (e.g., pencils, toys, assignments) needed to complete tasks or activities
♥Not seem to listen when spoken to
♥Daydream, become easily confused, and move slowly
♥Have difficulty processing information as quickly and accurately as others
♥Struggle to follow instructions.
♥Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type symptoms may include:
♥Fidget and squirm in their seats
♥Talk nonstop
♥Dash around, touching or playing with anything and everything in sight
♥Have trouble sitting still during dinner, school, and story time
♥Be constantly in motion
♥Have difficulty doing quiet tasks or activities.
and also these manifestations primarily of impulsivity:
♥Be very impatient
♥Blurt out inappropriate comments, show their emotions without restraint, and act without regard for consequences
♥Have difficulty waiting for things they want or waiting their turns in games”
The exactitude of their causes aren’t really known but studies and researches think it may have to do with : genetics, enviornment, diet, and social surroundings. There are several theories. Look into it and learn more if you’d like.

Schizophrenia
By definition, “Schizophrenia is mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, to think logically to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations.” www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. It makes you hallucinate actual things and be able to make contact with these hallucinations.
A good example of Schizophrenia is the movie “A Beautiful Mind” with Russell Crow. This disorder is mainly thought to affect cognition, but also contributes to chronic problems with behavior and emotions. There are positive and negative symptoms for schizophrenia. Positive symptoms are just the hallucinating and delusions. Negative symptoms are lack of emotions and not paying attention. They do not have any medication for Schizophrenia. What Doctors normally do is give them a anti- psychotic medication, but only helps the positive symptoms.

Trained Babies can pay attention better
Mkoop
I don't approve of testing on babies but this is rather simple and most likely had the permission of the parents.
Parents might train their children in this way to better prepare them for school.
