Alien Hand Syndrome (AHS)

Yes it's real, yes it's bad, and no it's not an alien. Alien Hand Syndrome (AHS) is a disease where the afflicted persons hand seems to take on a mind of it's own. It is most commonly seen in a person who has had the two hemispheres of the brain disconnected, or after other brain surgery, strokes, or infections. Some symptoms can include distinct movements of the hand different from the mind of the carrier. It can be controled, but not cured.
