Clinical depression is an actual problem where the brain will not give enough pleasure and make more negative thoughts and cause depression for longer and frequent periods of time. Depression has took lives through suicide, especially if clinical depression is involved. One of the reasons depression takes place in our body is the limbic system in our brain. The limbic system regulates our emotions, physical and sexual drives, and stress response. It also regulates many other smaller parts of our behavior, if this part of the brain were to become interfered with anything, it would cause problems. The neurotransmitters and neurons themselves can be culprits to interrupt normal regulation of the limbic system. Also, hormones is another way depression can hit, especially in growing teens.

Depression is a serious problem. It can lead to suicide if it seems as if the hopelessness of depression hits too hard. Psychologists learning about the brain and what causes depression can help create anti depressants. It will obviously have its side effects, but it can also save another person's life.
